Cost Saving for costs reduction and optimization: from research and development to the production and finishing of the component

■ Personalized design and realization of customized molds, by collaborating directly with qualified local mold makers.

We offer a turnkey die casting experience based on our clients’ project, with the constant focus on cost optimization and on the speeding up of design process.

Through dedicated internal departments, Veneta Press applies finishing processes on the aluminium pieces.

■ Blanking

Blanking aluminium die cast parts is an essential mechanical finishing step, performed immediately after molding to eliminate burrs, runners and exceeding the material left by the mold.

After a visual inspection of the casting, the part is placed in a press equipped with a blanking die, where a punch applies pressure to the metal, cold-cutting it along the desired geometry. This process achieves clean edges and highly precise tolerances.

The removed scraps are collected for recycling, while the cleaned part continues with following machining and surface treatments.

■ Filing

Filing is a finishing process made by hand, and it involves the use of a file to remove small burrs and imperfections from the die-cast parts.

It is performed after blanking and involves removing, with controlled movements, small amounts of metal (filing) to achieve smooth surfaces. It’s also used to prepare edges, corners or hard-to-reach areas for any finishing (grinding, polishing, painting).

This process requires expert personnel, careful in avoiding deformations or scratches; the precision is guaranteed by the use of measuring instruments to ensure the part to comply with the required tolerances.

■ Grinding

We also perform in-house grinding of the parts that we produce, using grinding wheels or rigid abrasive discs to remove more significant irregularities such as excess material, nodules, uneven welds or flux residue.

This process relies on the use of a particularly “powerful” abrasive to remove macroscopic defects, by preparing the surface of the part for subsequent finer steps such as grinding or polishing.

Our dedicated team ensures that, during this operation, no deformations, overheating or alterations to the geometry of the parts occur.

■ Deburring

Deburring is the process of removing burrs or excess material, left after casting or shearing.

It is used to eliminate sharp edges, sprues, casting residue or unexpected branches.

We perform this step manually by using machines with abrasive belts.

■ Sandblasting

Sandblasting is a finishing process applied during the final stages of the die cast part production, in aim to prepare the surface for protective and aesthetic treatments (painting, anodizing, etc.).

An abrasive jet is used to remove oxides, oil residues and surface contaminants, obtaining a uniform and adequately rough surface.

Sandblasting is made in an open or closed cycle (with suction) to manage dust and recover abrasive. The grain size of the abrasive material and the pressure of the jet determine the final roughness.

Warehouse for molds storage

Veneta Press offers a warehouse for the storage of molds, to fully support customers by speeding up the production of aluminium components and reducing the costs for logistics.

Customer-owned molds are stored and cataloged securely inside our company, to ensure their integrity and immediate availability for new production.

This service allows to:

■ reduce the lead times to produce new orders

■ delete the need for transportation and handling by the customer

■ ensure best conditions for the storage and check of the molds

■ optimize the logistics and production management.

Thanks to this exclusive service, Veneta Press integrates into its customers’ supply chain by ensuring efficient, safe and always ready mold management, to meet the production needs.

Warehouse of pieces for fast delivery

The considerable size of our company premises allows us to keep a warehouse of pieces, ready for fast delivery: components for electric motors such as frames, flanges, shields, fans and fan covers.

In this way, our customers can reduce their purchasing times, with shorer leadtimes for the most requested components.

Thanks to this organization:

■ delivery times are shorter

■ urgent orders are managed simply and faster

■ in some cases, the delivery of parts is possible within 24 hours.

This service can optimize the production flows, ensuring continuity of supply to our customers, a reduction in machine downtime and a high operational efficiency.
